  • How does a resin-bound surface maintain grip when wet?

    The coarse aggregate particles sit proud of the resin binder, creating a textured surface that water cannot flatten. Unlike smooth concrete or tile, the texture is built into the material itself, so it does not wear away with foot traffic or fade with cleaning.

  • Will Denver’s freeze-thaw cycles crack the surface?

    A correctly specified sub-base handles freeze-thaw movement. The installer assesses your existing base depth and drainage before quoting. A permeable surface also reduces water retention in the base layer, which is the main cause of frost heave cracking.

  • What happens if I delay replacing a slippery pool deck?

    Smooth, worn concrete becomes progressively more hazardous as the surface texture erodes. A single slip incident near a pool edge carries serious injury risk. Delaying also allows chlorine-laden water to continue degrading the existing surface, increasing the base repair cost when you do act.

  • Does the surface need annual sealing or recoating?

    No. Resin-bound surfaces do not require annual sealing. The resin binder is resistant to chlorine-laden water, so the maintenance routine is limited to occasional brushing or hose-down cleaning.

  • How is drainage handled around the pool edge?

    The installer specifies drainage falls and sub-base depth during the site assessment. The permeable surface passes water through to the base layer, and edge detailing directs runoff away from the pool coping and surrounding landscaping.
